providenceFeb 2nd When many people think new england, together with leaves turning color in the fall and picturesque towns and of course Boston and beaches, many people think seafood. Certainly with its extensive coastline and much of the population growing up by the coast, seafood is one of the prime gastronomical treats of the area. Although seafood is available worldwide these days, there are some seafood dishes that are quintessentially New England. New England is extremely accessible its biggest airport is in Boston, Massachusetts, but there are also major airports in most of the states. Since the dollar is not at its best, it has made the US a less expensive trip for many visitors.My favorite season here is fall and not just for the bright colors of the trees. There is that magical snap in the crisp air that adds excitement to bundling up and lessens your inhibitions about feasting in a season of roasts and apple pies. While the masses flock to Vermont, the Massachusetts Berkshire Hills, and the White Mountains of New Hampshire to "leaf peep" as we say, try heading to Maine. Clam chowder these days has plenty of varieties, but even in Boston or new england, the most popular is still the original New England Clam Chowder.
