First week's weight loss plan - effective!

Feb 17th


I lost 5.2 lbs this week!  What happened?  Well, first of all, my body's probably in shock of the starvation.

So this week I limited myself to 1200 calories a day.  I drank of a lot of water or green tea.  I also incorporated a lot of veggies, some fruit, nuts, protein, and whole grains.  I consumed a good deal of veggie-based soups to make me feel full with lots of liquid but didn't pack on the cals. 

I think another key was getting the right amount of sleep.  I got about 8 hours each night, give or take.  It was quality sleep too...lots of dreaming.  :)

My weakness as usual was alcohol and cheese.  I didn't go hog wild on the cheese, so I'm not too upset about that.  but the days that I did exceed my calorie goal, it was because of wine and/or beer.  Ugh.

 

My physical activity needs to be ramped up more.  I walked Kelso regularly, but other than that, I didn't get cardio or strength training in.  Going to have to strive for that this week...

Competition starts Monday.  Not doing much this weekend, just mentally preparing for the next 10 weeks.
