About Me: I began my healthy living transformation on 3/17/2010. At that time I weighed the most I had ever weighed, 271. I was wearing size 46 jeans, and XXL t-shirts. My weight had crept up since getting married in 2002. And I always found excuses not to work out or eat right. My idea of a good time was sitting on the couch, watching TV and eating a full bag of chips or a quart of ice cream. I had to make a change. Our local gym had a weight loss challenge scheduled to begin 3/17, but we found out on the day of... it was cancelled. But we proceeded anyway. I have not "officially" weighed in almost a month (mostly due to an illness that kept me bedriden) but now I'm ready to redidicate myself to my healhty objective.
Goals: My overall goal is to become more healthy. In general that means, eating healthier food (limited fried foods, red meats, white flour and white potatoes). We found it easy to replace these with healthier and just as tasty alternatives. Also, snacking... change snacking habits to limit the portions and/or find a more healthy alternative. I would like to lose 100 pounds total to hit my goal weight of 171 by May 7, 2011 (my 40th birthday). But for this challenge, I would like to lose 10 pounds (starting 1 wk late, means just over 1 pound per week). This may not be enough to win, but I am looking forward to sharing this journey with more people.
